HENRY FORD TRADE SCHOOL TRIBUTE at the
LORENZO CULTURAL CENTER
MACOMB COMMUNITY COLLEGE

HENRY FORD TRADE SCHOOL DAY
2PM - 6PM, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 21, 2010

For about four years the Lorenzo Cultural Center at Macomb Community College has been presenting a variety of unusual programs, each lasting 2 to 3 months and each attracting between 7,500 and 12,000 visitors. During the period February 27 to May 8, 2010 the Cultural Center will present a program titled “And Still They Prospered: Surviving the Great Depression”. Included in the program will be a tribute to Henry Ford for his significant contributions as the “Father of Industrial Education”, and to the achievements of Henry Ford Trade School Alumni. The Alumni Association is enthusiastically supporting this initiative with Wednesday, April 21, 2010 being designated as “Henry Ford Trade School Day”. Our program is scheduled from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

To peak your interest:
A variety of Trade School memorabilia has been loaned to the Cultural Center for display during the duration of the program. Bob Kreipke, Corporate Historian for the Ford Motor Company will speak of Henry Ford’s novel approach to technical training. The Alumni Association will sponsor a social reception, including a variety of cheeses, crackers, fruits and wines. In addition to Alumni and friends, the anticipated attendance will include faculty, administrative personnel and selective students from the College. The reception is intended to provide college representatives, including students, an opportunity to learn information first hand about the Trade School in a personal and social setting. Alumni members are encouraged to wear sport coats for the reception. Alumni pocket emblems are being acquired and will be distributed at the event
